And with the summer goes away my time at the research facility sniff Well these days I am a bit relieved as it is a bit stressful to work and study. So, the thing is that I will leave them and the gm rice and corn to do gm Arabidopsis. Ironic isn't it?

I've begun the term already. Incredibly, after one week, I've got plenty of work to do. Even though, sarna con gusto no pica, so I'm happy to be back and have things to do. I must do some more thinking on possible objectives for a project
On the other hand, I begin to be ready to finish my practice at the lab, because it interferes with my classes and it's plainly annoying.
To help me through it, my latest craze: Tokio Hotel! I know, I'm a bit old for their average fan, but I really like their songs, and we won't argue, the singer is quite hot in a beautiful as hell way! It all began when I heard a song of them in the radio at the lab quite a few times. Then came wikipedia (where I actually found that they normally sing in German and not in English) and youtube, and the rest is history

As lazy as I can be, only recently I found the LOLcats. Then, I couldn't leave them. I jus laughed non stop.
But the best had yet to come, as today I found the LOLscience community!!!!

Had technical problems (meaning that my laptop died), and now I am too lazy to post anything else LOL

On Monday we went to colect samples. That wouldn't be much trouble if it wasnt corn that we were speaking. Imagine a sunny day, very sunny day in Spain after a rainy weekend. Then add one corn field, one gmo gen flux project and one biology student in summer practice. The result is some young women (biology is almost a women thing here LOL) wearing long sleeved shirts, boots, protection googles and caps, equiped with gps and radios and ready to enter the field to take cobs of the corns as samples. The result is a dizzy student, lots of sweat and mud and a hell of a fun day. And amazingly, bits of plants everywhere once  I got home and in the shower!
Thankfully, we have some very nice bosses, and afterwards we went to have dinner together.

Actually the one who is going to bitch a little bit is me. Everything has an explanation, so here it comes.
The thing is that, being my father my boss for two many summers to remember (joking), I've received my share of reprimands, and it makes me mad to, for once be the customer and see others do those things that I was told not to do. One of them is not to have arguments in front of the customers, and never let them see that you are mad. And today, while I was having dinner at a restaurant, I had to hear two waiters and a cook fighting! I do not want to know! Wait until there is less people at the restaurant and then tell the cook whatever you want, in private. And never ever grumble while you attend the customers!
Well, on the bright side, I am excited because tomorrow we will do a PCR. That will be my first PCR! Now my sister would say: geek!

I think that I was a bit bored, and trying to do anything except study, so I created an LJ account. Good thing as I love to ramble. Bad thing if as usual my mind is elsewhere and forget to post.
